Sustainable and American-Made

Sustainability is central to ACWorks. We transform coal resources into a valuable product to protect human health by removing harmful chemicals from the air and water. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is the only one of its kind, using gases generated from coal processing to generate electricity which powers the site, including our electric kiln. Our circular facility also makes us the first coal-based pelletized activated carbon producer located here in the United States.

Coal has been chosen as the raw material for our products due to its inherent carbon properties that lead to superior activated carbon. Innovative manufacturing techniques using electrically powered activated furnaces limits the emission of fossil fuel by-products by reusing the volatile gases as a source of energy to power the plant in a self-sufficient way.
